Sent to Health Experts August 26 10:22 PM

hey,
i recently started working a dayshift job at a prison, its very hot there and since ive been on days i every so often develope a rash around the bottom of my legs above my ankels it really doesnt itch but it does burn at first like razor burn or something and its real prickly and sometimes develops bumps like an ant bite looks. the uniforms that we wear are polyester and i recently switched from wearing hi tops to low cut tennis shoes and i wear ankle socks, anyways i was wondering if the pants could be rubbing my legs and i dont have the high tops to protect that area and the heat is really bad in louisiana, do u think its like an irration from the pants and heat combined r what?

It does sound as though it may be a combination. Make sure you are wearing cotton socks. Wash the area well with antibacterial soap, pay dry well. Apply some Hydrocortisone cream to the area. Make sure to wash the area when you get home. I would also try to make sure to keep the polyester away from the skin if you can. If you get a break and are able to, I would allow air to the area during the day or at least re-apply the cream again. Then in the evening, wash and apply a cool compress for about 20 min and allow to air dry.

Best of luck Hun, Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and leave *POSITIVE* feedback.
