Ear question

Sent to Health Experts August 28, 2006 12:28 a.m.

Hi. I was involved in an altercation last night, and I was punched in the side of the face. The right side of my cheek is just a tad swollen, and my jaw is a bit sore. But my main concern is my ear. The feeling in my ear is similar to having water in there when swimming or after a shower. The feeling subsides when I am not moving around and am laying down. But when up and around and moving my face around, it feels as if it gets clogged again. Any suggestions or what I should do, or wait it out? My concern is that hopefully there isn't any blood in there. I really have no clue. Thanks!

You need to go to an Emergency Room to rule out the following conditions:

  • ruptured ear drum
  • fracture of cheek bone
  • fracture of the jaw

In the mean time you can take Advil tablet.
