Dear Janet,

Of all the antidepressants in its class, Paxil causes the most withdrawl problems.

If you wish, you can go back on the Paxil, but it may take several days for you to get relief.

My wife has recently switched from Paxil to Cymbalta and experienced exactly what you are. She had a terrible week, but then started the upward swing, slowly but surely.

Many years ago, I was taken off Prozac and don't want to go there again.

Lexapro has advantages over Paxil; for too many people Paxil loses its effectiveness over time, making a change necessary.

So, I've told you what you may do, but you have to decide. Either way, the pain will pass.

If you wish, you may keep up this correspondance until you feel better.
