can you tell me the different types of muscular distophy, and there different prognoisis, as my friend's daughter has just being diagnosed, but they don't know yet which type?

I could go step by step through the various mucular dystrophies for you, however the Muscular Dystrophy Association webpage has some excellent links to the various types. I think this would be a great introduction to the diseases that make up the family of diseases called muscular dystrophy
