Had a mamogram a year ago and .Dr. saw somthing but said wait. Following mamogram sent me for a "compressed mamotram"(?Some test that was more intense than a regular one. They read that and sent me for an Ultra Sound. right away. I just had another Ultra Sound today and of course no answers but she did say my Lymph Nodes were swollen but that this was just a followup from 6 months ago. Should I be concerned? 8 months ago I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis (I am a white 55 yr old female) and they found a swollen lymph node under my right cheek and did a biopsy to comfirm this (and to rule out cancer) It is my left breast they are looking at. A Lung Specialist confirmed Sarcoidosis (as did the surgeon and the guy who read the biopsy.) Should I be concerned that maybe there could be a mistake or do these symptons make sense to another Professional. Thanks for listening.   Chris Sherman

Hello,

Sarcoidosis are known to affect the breast as well as the lungs. It can show up in a mammogram as a spiculated mass. It can also casue swelling of the lymph nodes of the armpit. It is possible of course that whatever has been seen in your mammogram is different from sarcoidosis but the chances of sarcoidosis is more.

I hope this helps.
