When can I drop my HMO and get back on Medicare?

When can I drop my HMO and get back on Medicare? I thought I could dropit at any time and be back on Medicare at the beginning of thenext month. MY HMO told me no. Please answer.

Hello

I believe you can do this as often as once a month. Call the medicare office and inquire about this over the phone. They will help you.

Reply to Kerry's Post: Hummana said that it used to be that, but with some extension of Medicare D bill this year it changed. Now I supposedly have towait until November ot December tochange. I've tried researching this but can't find the legislation that changed this and I'm not sure if Humana is being forthcoming or not. After you find thisout, please forward me the web-page so I can have it for future refrence.
