Why do I have to take my meds on an empty stomach and is it necessary? I am taking an antibiotic and it says to take it on an empty stomach 4 times a day. This is hard for me to do because I'm nursing and eating frequent small meals. Can I take it with food anyway? It's for mastitis.

If you take it after you eat, it may not absorb correctly or completely. I suggest taking it 20 minutes before each small meal, four times a day. Take with a full glass of water. This should allow it to dissolve and absorb before you eat 20 minutes later.
