My entire tongue is covered with very tiny white to yellow

My entire tongue is covered with very tiny white to yellow tinted bumps, it basically coats the entire tongue. About 5 days ago my tongue began to feel very sensitive towards the middle back area of my tongue, kind of when you drink or eat something to hot and it leaves that burned feeling in your mouth where a layer of skin has been removed.
As the bumps continue to slowly add on it has made a cluster of bumps where they are raised, probably from sitting and piling on one another at this particular spot on my
tongue. There is no puss or mucas or anything like that, but this spot is continuing to
grow and become more irratible, and now a little difficult to swallow saliva in the mouth due to the tenderness in that area on the tongue.
Any advice? I am assuming thrush, if that is your response then it is okay, no need for a response.
