I have a lot of pain in my right side everytime I come ...

I have a lot of pain in my right side everytime I come on my period.
Is this a serious problem? I was told when I was in the hospital I had a cyst on my ovaries. I take a lot of pain pills but nothing helps and I bleed a lot heavier now. Plesae advise.
