stopping a period

I am getting married on 10/06 and my period seems to be getting ready to start. I have irregular periods and am wondering if I can stop it before it starts or if I can stop it once it starts. I know about norethisterone, but I didn't find that until today and am not sure I have 3 days before it starts to being taking it.
Since I am so irregular, I have no way of knowing what my start date will be. I am only barely spotting now and then.
Help!!!
