hi there,
My name is Dan I am a register nurse. It is certainly possible for your ulcer to go away. This occurs often with no or little intervention. If you have black or tarry stool this is a sign you are bleeding in the stomach. An ulcer is the most likely case. You may also experience pain, nausea and vomiting. I would try a course of prilosec. You can now buy this over the counter. This will reduce the acid in your stomach, this will help give your ulcer a chance to heal. If you start to get really weak, tired, lightheaded or dizzy I would seek care as this is a sign your losing blood from the ulcer and you are becoming anemic.
I hope this has helped. Let me know if you have further questions.
Dan RN
