I have a irregular spot on my tongue that has been there for about one month. I went to an oral surgeon and he said he has never seen this before but suggested that he take it off and take a biopsy. It is also suggested I see a dermatoligist first before surgury by the oral surgeon.

Question? Your opinion as to what this might be and what kind of doctor I should go to for second opinion.

Hello Arlene,

I would suggest getting a second opinion form an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist.

I think a biopsy is a good idea. Were you ever a smoker?
