Hello

An ultrasound measures the size of the baby. Then it is based on averages to guesstimate your due date. This can be off by up to two weeks either way. If you know your date of conception, that is far more accurate.

I went in for a csection today because my son was breech . when i got in the baby moved to pistion and i am 2 cent. Now they decided to send me home and let me wait it out telling me that i will be induced on 10/4.

Just a recap.... My lmp was 12/9 i had intercourse on 12/24 and i bled on 12/28
They are dating my due date from my 10 week ultrasound and saying that the there is not such thing as an implantation bleed only ovulation bleeding . I have 26 day cycles - how would i ovulate on day 20 of my cycle and why would i have that ony one time - five days after intercourse?

I am sorry but i trust you more than my doctor at this point

Wow.

Okay, on the good side, if you are 2 cm dilated and baby has moved into position, AND you are right on the due date, you will not have to wait until October to be induced. I'm willing to bet you will be in full blown labor in the next few days. Now, keep in mind that only God knows, but from my experience, you are very close to going into labor.

There is such a thing as implantation bleeding. I've witnessed it, and there is literature to back it up.

Go with your gut.

If you don't trust your doc, you can always get a second opinion at any time.

Reply to Kerry's Post: Is a ten week ultrasound more accurate than all of the other ultrasounds? My 11 week triple screen ultrasound dated the 19th.

Are they dating my implantation as date of conception ? Wouldnt that be when pregnancy really begins ?????

Which is more common implantation or ovulation bleeding ?
Is it likely to have ovulation bleeding 20 days later?

Some say the 10 week is the most accurate, but again, they all have a margin for error of up to two weeks either way.

They are dating based on the babys size at that ultrasound if that is when you were given your due date.

Implantation bleeding is more common, in my experience with working with expectant moms.

It is not likely to have ovulation bleeding 20 days later.
