I fell forward and hit both knees. My knee which had not given me any problems up until that time know makes a lound cracking noise when I stand up. It also does it when i lift my knee while sitting down. My Doctor told me nothing was wrong, but it is very noticable by others who sit my me in church and choir. My physical therapist said it sounded like I could have liquid accumulated around the knee. Can something be done or do I live with the sound? Jackie Taylor

Hello,

Did your doctor do an x-ray or MRI of the knee? It sounds to me like a tendon is snapping into place each time you move it. You may want to get a second opinion from an orthopedic physician.

My Orthpedic doctor did an x-ray in the office with 3 different views of my knee. When he told me he saw nothing even though he heard and felt the cracking noise, I didn't know what else to do, but now you have mentioned an MRI or see another Orthpedic doctor. He was recommended as one of the best in Orange County and he did a right hip replacement which I have never had a problem with.
