I have been having sharp pain in my left lower pelvis. I had an ultrasound in May 07 and it showed bi-lateral ovarian cysts. I had another ultrasound in July 07 and it showed that the cysts were gone. However, the pain continues. My doctor sent me for a cat scan and that showed clear. So she sent me to a ob/gyn to set up a laparoscopy. This doctor made me feel that I was wasting his time - that he could not do a laparoscopy because it could puncture my bowel and I would then have a colostomy. So he examined me. When he felt the spot where the pain was, it hurt so much. After that I was in extreme pain for the next two weeks. He sent me to a doctor of internal medicine who was going to send me for a colonoscopy. I asked him if the location of the pain was where the bowel was. He then rudely told me to stop questioning him because he knew more than me. I told him I will continue to search for answers. What else could be causing this?

Hi, IBRAIN , What this doctor told you ,it is completely incorrect doing a laparoscopy will not puncture your bowel if the procedure is doing correctly .

I would suggest you consulting other ob/gyn , the doctor that you consulted , was not professional and I think that you must look for a second opinion .

If this second doctor rules out a gynecologic disorder , the next conditions that must be investigated would be :

1- a left mass in your colon

or

2- the presence of kidney or bladder stones
