As I am 61 & have been unemployed for 2 years. i don''t have any children at home so I am not eligible for any help, other than food stamps.   The NP thought it might be shingles but they do not have the means to do a culture, so they can give me the medicine that will cure whatever it is. Since the Acyclovir did not help, she doesn''t know what to tx me with.   She said the only other option was for me to go to the ER.   That is not an option for me, I already owe creditors & do not have any $$$ for an ER visit. This is very painful. Just about the time I think almost gone, it starts all over again.   It spreads so fast that I can see it do it right in front of me. I have been in the medical field all my life. But I have never seen anything like this in my life.   I have been using sterile technique several times a day to keep it clean, hopefully to stop the spreading. I threw away all cosmetic sponge applicators. I only wear make up when I absolutely have to go out in public.
