Hi there,

Itching can be caused by numerous things. The most obvious being an allergy to certain soaps, lotions or detergents. If you once used a lotion, etc for awhile and then stopped using it, you may have developed an allergy towards it and re introducing to your regime can cause itching. Dry skin can also cause itching, as can an allergy to cold weather. Food and drug allergies are also possible causes, as well as pet allergies. Think back to when the itching started and ask yourself what new possible allergens you were exposed to from that point on. It is also possible that stress could be a factor.

I would recommend taking an antihistamine, one that does not make you sleepy, especially during the day, to help with the symptoms. Aveeno oatmeal bath is wonderful to help reduce the itching, just be careful that the water is not too hot. If these suggestions do not help, I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation.

I hope this helps.
