The salty metallic taste can be indicative of the presence of blood
(the metallic taste comes from the blood's normal iron content).
You may have direct oral bleeding from gingivitis or some type of mouth
sore(s) -- or you may be getting the taste from postnasal drip-type
discharge -- which can contain blood due to a sinus infection or
allergy.
Continual swallowing of blood, even when it is diluted by saliva, is a
common cause of nausea -- as is, continual swallowing of postnasal
sinus discharge, whether or not it contains blood.
The things mentioned by the previous expert are also possible causes --
and of course, your symptoms may be caused by some odd thing that neither one of us has
mentioned.
Any which way, you should have these symptoms (including the anxiety)
checked out by your doctor. Be sure to tell him how much Nicorette gum have been chewing -- and for how long -- as
your stomach may be rebelling against it.
