I have a 4 year old daughter that can't get to sleep due to a persistent cough. Onset was early today and has persisted throughout the day and night. She has food allergies, but unknown on environmental allergies. She currently has Benadryl and Delsym on board, with no signs of relief. Benadryl was given over an hour ago, Delsym over 1/2 hour ago. Also we are running a humidifier in her room and we have her upper body elevated. Help?

Sit in the shower with her for about 20-30 min with the hot water running from the shower. Close the door and just allow her to breath in the steam. This should help her enough to be able to relax and help sooth her throat for her to get some sleep. Other wise, you are doing everything you can right now. I'm not sure how well she would care for some warm tea with honey or something, but that too while in the bathroom can help.

Best of luck, Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!
