I have extreme problems sleeping and have been given seroquel for sleep. I have been using it for about 6 months. Althopugh it only gives me a few hours sleep it is better than none. However, I know it is an antipsychotic drug and wonder if it is safe to take for a sleep problem,. I have tried Ambien and was up all night...for some reason I have odd reactions to many drugs.
I am in a high level of pain everyday due to a degenerative disc disease, three surgeries and nerve damage. I can not tolerate any narcotics and have found little relief from the Ultracet I am now taking. Daily activities, like getting dressed, are very painful. My quality of life within the last 4 years has gone from actively working out for many years to cringing when I do most anything. Any suggestions for a non narcotic pain reliever that I could take for a long period of time? Perhaps you know of some type of holistic practice that has been of use to others. I am prepared to try anything my doctor feels would not be harmful.
I am very proactive in trying to control the pain, but feel a bit desperate of late.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I will, of course, talk any ideas over with my doctors.
