I have a pain that happens on the right side of my abdomen under my ribcage. directly behind and under the bottom of my rib cage. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the "attacks", they are sporadic. They occur anywhere from once a week to once a month. There doesn't seem to be any correlation to what I've eaten. I've gotten to the point where I can tell hours in advance that I will probably have an "attack" because of a slight pain much earlier in the evening. Generally when the pain occurs, I am unable to sleep (always happens at night about 1/2 hour to one hour after going to bed). They last about 11/2 - 2 hours, never longer. I get flushed, and feel like there is one big gas bubble under the side of my ribs. I usually vomit, try to have a bm, and need to stay standing up. The pain isn't overwhelming, but it can be intense. It is only in one area and doesn't travel. I don't have health insurance and can't afford to go to the doctor, let alone a hospital.
