Sent to Health Experts April 02, 2007 11:41 p.m.

I have been using OTC sleeping aids to help getting to sleep, however, I was just prescribed alprazolam ( xanax) for increasing anxiety. I just did some research about the xanax , and how I shouldn't use along with the sleeping pill. I had already taken both of those meds this evening, and now of course my anxiety is increasing as I'm nervous I made a dangerous mistake. Help!

Hello

Okay, try not to worry. Getting more anxious isn't going to help. :) I know, easier said than done. Since you are used to taking the OTC med, and the xanax is a small dose, I think you are going to be just fine. I would be sure not to do this on a regular basis though.
