I have a cold and recently stopped smoking and when I cough I have a metalic taste in my mouth, do I need to be really concerned about this?

I would be concerned if the cough does not go away or you see blood in the sputum. The metal taste may be blood - try to look at what you are coughing up. otherwise congratulations on quitting the smoking
