Drug test question
Sent to Health Experts June 11 02:58 PM

Hello,

About 11 days ago I went to the beach with some friends and on the 2 hour drive up there they were smoking marijuana. Like an idiot I took 2-3 hits of it, which I normally wouldnt do. (Damn peer pressure) I didnt smoke after those 2 hits but I most likely breathed in some smoke from my friends, although it was ventilated. Anyway, after that I got a call for a great job that I had seriously given up on getting. The employer said that he would call me back in a few days and set up everything to do some blood work. At first I didnt even think about it because normally drug testing isnt something I would worry about, but after the excitement wore off I realized what I did before.
I am 21, I am about 5'11, and I am pretty thin, not much muscle. I also believe that I have a fast metabolism, because I eat like a horse. I also drink about 2 liters of water a day, if not more. I have been drinking water for a while, not just because of my problem. I dont normally excersize much besides walking. And finally I very rarely smoke marijuana, because I get no enjoyment out of it. Before this the last time I tried it was about a year ago, so I would categorize myself as an infrequent user.
Anyways, I went to some of my friends that smoke alot and asked their advice, and I have also been trying to do research on the web, which is hard because most of the info is from sites that want you to buy something.
Some friends recommended a herb called Golden Seal, which I tried and it tastes gross. Some other friends recommended eating parsley and drinking cranberry juice. I have been drinking the cranberry juice although I've read that it doesnt neccessarily help flush toxins. I plan to eat a bunch of parsely but havent done it yet.
Finally a friend gave me these pills called QPretox which contain 3mg of Niacin. It also contains Gelatin, Magnesium Stearate, and Silicon Dioxide. I've read that Niacin is found in eggs, which I eat often, but I dont know about the rest. I havent taken these pills yet because I dont want to, until I find out more.
Finally I have been drinking even more water than normal, atleast 3 liters a day. I know that the chemicals im trying to get rid of are fat soluble and water wont help much but I have also read that water increases metabolism. Also, today I started excersizing. I rode my bike for about 5 miles, jump roped and did some other stuff to make me sweat. I will probably continue until my test.
Is there anything else I can do that will help me? And will any of these methods hurt my chances?
My last question is:
I have read that the level of stuff the tests look for has to be under 50 ng/mL in order to pass. What is that level equivalent to? Is it equivalent to like a puff of marijuana? Or maybe just breathing it in?
Finally, they havent set a date yet so I am guessing that I have a few more days to try my best. And I dont want to have to resort to taking those flush liquids to help me pass. Please help me, I rarely ever do it. I am not sure if it will be a blood test or urine test though and dont wanna ask.

Optional Information:
Male , Age: 21

Already Tried:
Ive Tried drinking cranberry juice, adding golden seal to boiling water and drinking it, eating parsely, drinking more water than usual(about 3 liters). And excersizing. I am also contemplating taking detox pills that have niacin in it.

Hello,

I have worked at a substance abuse recovery venter.

Do not waste your time or money taking anything else. The drug tests these days are geared to also identify these cleansing products and also overly diluted urine.

As it was eleven (11) days ago, you should pass the test. Stay away from these friends for the time being to avoid the peer pressure :-)

Also, how long can marijuana be detected in blood?
I dont know which kind of test I will be getting yet (blood or urine.)

Also, I bought a home drug test to test myself (because I am extremely paranoid) its just geared to test for marijuana. The brand name was First Check.

Most drug tests are via urine, and after 11 days, you will be clean as you have stated you are not a regular use of marijuana.

The formula is the amount of milligrams per millileter. You were exposed to so little, it would not even register after eleven days.
