I am 17 weeks pregnant, I have been trying to quit smoking since I found out that I was pregnant at 5 weeks. I used to smoke a pack a day and I have cut back to half a cigarette a week, I try to not smoke it, but once its been like 6 or 7 days its all i can think about.
My question is, is my baby still at high risk for smoking related illnesses? I have read all about low birth weight and the dangers of smoking but I try so hard and feel like I can't cut it out...

First let me say Congrats on the baby and for cutting back. If you are only smoking a half a cigarette in a week, then you are doing awesome. Although there are risks, with only a half a week then no, you will be fine and the baby too. Doctors know how hard it is to quit, and if you can cut back like you did, that's awesome. Not to say to smoke more, but a lot of woman do smoke, some do cut back, while other's can't. And they had a perfect baby. So don't beat yourself up on this half a cigarette. Be proud to what you have done. If you can leave that half alone, do so. If you can't, well, it would be better to have it than stress, as stress can do damage too. So give yourself a pat on the back, as you have done good.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don't forget to click the *ACCEPT* button and please take a moment to leave me *POSITIVE* feedback.
