my guy has some e.d., but for several years some diminished penis sensation that delays or totally eliminates orgasm. we are both healthy and attractive and loving. he does smoke. my question is, since he gets hard ,but can't always climax, could viagra or cialis make him keep an erection too long that it would be harmful to him if he was unable to reach orgasm. also, what could be the cause of his diminished sensation? he is 53. he is not diabetic.

i was disappointed that your source did nothing to address the diminished sensation question. all the information given i had already found on the internet. he left my two main things unanswered....which were... what causes diminished sensation, and would inability to orgasm in the presence of a drug induced erection cause the penis to remain hard for too long and cause problems?

Diminshed sensation is generally a nerve problem with the lower sacral roots. It is seen in diabetes. Smoking would be a rare cause of a neuropathy but could theoretically be related on a vascular basis. In other words, smoking is known to be a significant contributing factor in vascular disease. Neuropathies can be as a result of vascular disease affecting the small arteries that feed the nerves oxygen and nutrients. This aspect would need to be evaluated by a urologist or neurologist. High dose vitamin B supplements can help to optimize nerve conduction, since vitamin B6 is needed for proper nerve conduction. It would be worth a try. As for the effect of PDE-5 inhibitors, there is a potential with any of them for priapism, which is an erection that lasts 4 hours or more. Priapism requires emergency treatment in order to prevent permanent impotence. If your boyfriend, or guy, develops priapism, then you have to take him to the emergency room or the urologist for immediate treatment. I hope that this was helpful and the information you were looking for.
