ITP and Marijuana smoke

Sent to Health Experts November 14 06:48 PM

What are the effects of THC from marijuana if you have been diagnosed with ITP? The person with the problem doesn't smoke, however, we're supposed to be attending a dinner party this weekend where we know people will be smoking in the house. Could this cause the platelets to drop and patekia to emerge?

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy).

THC will affect platelet. You should not attend the party or ask them not to smoke or leave as soon as they smoke. Why do you want to take a risk?

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy).

I am not aware that some body else was helping you. Here is the answer from Shirley. THC may decrease platelet count and inhibit clot formation.
