Question

Torn Bisep

Sent to Health Experts July 22, 2005 4:31 p.m.

I have torn my bisep in my arm. The muscle has moved up about three from my elbow. (I can barely pick anything up it's so bad.) I'm going for an MRI on Monday to get it further checked out. They mentioned that I might have to have surgery to reconnect the muscles and ligaments to my bone. Is there a good possibilty that I might have to have surgery? Or if I just stay off it for a while, can the muscles just grow back onto the bone? I figured if I had surgery the recovery time might be just as long as if i just stayed off of it and let it all grow back. Thanks for your help.
