I have just had surgery for a ruptured disk L4, I also have spondelothesis in the disk below. I am about 7 weeks into the healing period. In the last couple weeks I have started to have more pain than before my surgery, shooting pain down my left side even when i am laying down. I am still taking vicodin to function. When I called my doctor he said it sounded like a pinched nerve. The incision itself is actually radiating heat. What should I do?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

I think you need to be seen to rule out a possible infection in the incisional area. While you are there, you can have the increased pain checked out. An infection could be a cause of the increased pain as well.

Get in to see the surgeon who performed the surgery, Monday if possible.
