Question

medical aid

Sent to Health Experts February 03, 2006 9:19 p.m.

My 23 year old niece needs surgery for female problems. She is currently unemployed, has no insurance, and medicade will not help her because she is single and able to work. The only problem is jobs are scarse in this area and the ones that are available do not carry insurance on employees. Is there some kind of aid out there that can help us help her get the help she needs to get this surgery.

There are a couple things that might work. She can ask her doctor to write a letter to medicade explaining that she cannot work until the surgery is done. You can also write to your governor and congressmen explaining the situation. I had a friend who did that and within a week had a phone call from the medicade people and was able to get surgery covered.
