I am experiencing pain and swelling in both hands, ...

I am experiencing pain and swelling in both hands, sometimes excruiating. It use to occur mostly in the night, but now it is carrying over into the day. I also have numbness and tingling and sometimes I have pain down my right leg.. I've had 2 disc fusion surgeries in my neck and I also have scoliosis. The last time I had xrays of my neck, I was told by one doctor to have another surgery because one of the discs was putting pressure on the one below it. Another doctor (2nd opinion) said I should only have the surgery if the pain became intolerable. I don't know if the pain in my hands is due to a nerve being pinched in my neck or carpel tunnel. Do you have any advice and/or self-help techniques? Thank you for your time.
