I had surgery to remove a pilonidal cyst in January ...

Sent to Health Experts May 02, 2006 10:40 p.m.

I had surgery to remove a pilonidal cyst in January and once the wound fully healed I noticed the scar tissue became a bit puffy. I consulted my doctor and he told me I had a blood blister form underneath the scar tissue. It's been over a month and things appeared to be back to normal but just today I noticed the scar tissue again becoming puffy. Is this another blood blister or is it something worse?

I am wondering if the cyst was totally removed or if there is an infection. Do you have pain? Is the area red?

I would make an appointment for the doctor to re-check the area.

There is no pain with the area, and there is some redness. It's somewhat odd, the upper half of the scar tissue looks normal, then the bottom half has become puffed out again.
