Where can I get more information about fusing ones vertebraes. Dr. would like to fuse
several of my vertebraes, The surgery will take 4-5 hrs. Iam not able to take general
anesthesia. I am very cincerned. I am a 80 yrs old female with sclesosis and degenerates disks. Please give me some info. on this subject. Thank you. Tilde

I am going to post a couple of links for you that will give you alot of information about spine surgery. I can understand your concern about not being able to take general anesthesia, it is possible that they can use a spinal block instead so I would make it a point to talk with the anesthesiologists that will be performing the anesthesia as well as your attending surgeon since you do have so much understandable concern.
