I was envolved in a car accident 3/25/06 and I was told by the emergergency room and my Dr. that I only had a contusion but after 2 months my foot still hurts all the time and is still swollen. A CAT Scan was ordered and the results showed multiple bony fragments in the Lisfranc region between the intermediate cuniform bone and the proximal first and second metatarsals. On some cuts, this space was normal while on other cuts it is widened at roughly 3mm. There is also speculation that the majority of the fracture fragments are from the medial coniform bone but any of the other three mentioned bones could have been a doner site for a very small fragment. The borderline widening of the first intermetatarsal space could herald a tear of the lisfranc ligament. The accident was over two months ago and I have just been wearing an ace bandage and a flip flop since then. My question is how will the orthopedic surgeon fix this and will surgery be involved?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 28

Already Tried:
Ace bandage and cast shoe. I was told I could walk on my foot in the begining because it was only bruised. I also have a burning sensation on one side of my foot.
