Sent to Health Experts June 06 07:33 PM

I had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee back in Feb. 05. Post 3 weeks when stitches came out, I developed major infection and it had to be cleaned out twice, Following that, in August 05, they preformed a partial replacement. Since I have been in extreme pain in the knee and just above in the joint area. My question is, if the surgery was successful, why would I still be in so much pain. The Dr. said I am at full recovery. Can you maybe enlighten me? Thank you

Hi, All surgery that involves artificial components has the risks of loosening, wearing out, infection, mal-position, loss of motion, and scar tissue formation. Any of this condition can cause pain. So the knee needs to be examined an X-ray or an MRI or a CT scan of the knee to be done to rule out of the any conditon that i just mentioned.
