REPLIED Check Mark

This sounds like it could be a cyst and he should have it looked at to make sure it does not need removed being near his spinal chord. Most of the time cysts are painless unless they grow large enough to start affecting the organs or bones they are near so this may be why it does not cause any pain at this time.

If it is a cyst, do you think everything will be okay? This can be treated and he will be okay.

Yes if it is a cyst then they will first allow it to go away on it's own if not they will remove it if it is in an area that can cause problems or if larger then 6 cm but yes if this is a cyst then he should be fine and can be removed without further complications. I can understand your worry and relate as well but do not over worry yet as making sure he is seen promptly like you are is the best thing and a cyst can be safely removed without further problems and is a common surgery most often performed through out-patient surgery.
