good evening i have a friend here that is 42 years old and has been informed that she has siliva duct stones what can shee do to prevent this from happening and what can she do fro the imediate pain she is in

hard candies and juices and excedrin have tryed heating pad an ibuprofen 800 mg with no relief

The first thing your friend should do is to drink plenty of fluids to keep well hydrated. Sucking on sour things (lemons, lemon drops etc) will increase production of saliva, and this may help release the stone. A blocked duct can cause the gland to become infected, in which case an antibiotic would be necessary. If the stone does not come out on its own, surgery may be necessary to remove it.

For the pain she can also take Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

Tylenol or Ibuprofen can help

Also - you can try applying ice to the area to reduce the swelling
