Question

I have a 7 month old baby and am having a hard time losing

Sent to Health Experts July 12, 2006 8:54 p.m.

I have a 7 month old baby and am having a hard time losing weight. This is my second child and three years ago after the birth of my first baby my OB-GYN put me on Synthroid to help me lose weight (said woman sometimes have hormonal imbalances after pregnancy). He did not take any levels at the time. I have been taking this medication ever since and have been followed by my IM doc. I have also not had a menstural cycle and quit breastfeeding back in April. I have recently seen an endocrinologist who increased my meds from 100mcg to 125mcg(Synthroid). I have been working out with a personal trainer 4 days a week for two months and watching what I eat. I have not lost any wieght since my daughter was 3 weeks old. I am currently 165lbs. and 5'3" tall. I'm at a loss and need help (I was 140lbs. before baby). The endocrinologist suggested I take Cortislim at every meal to help in my weight loss efforts.

REPLIED Check Mark

Hello:
I would love to help you. I need some more information>

Obviously the endocrinologist checked the T3 AND T4 levels for you since he adjusted the Synthroid. Right?
You say that you are working out with a trainer. What kind of a routine are you doing.?
Have you ever tried myfooddiary.com?

Thanks,

I've recently gone from 170 to 145 in the last year after many many years of trying really everything, including surgery so I hope that I can help you with this that is near and dear to my heart.

I do 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical, bike or treadmill (usually level 10/jogging). Weights for 30 min. Yesterday I was lifting 90lbs. on the leg machine and go up to 50lbs. for arms. I am very strong and know I am gaining muscle but I am still not changing pant size.
