Tummy Tuck Problems
Sent to Health Experts August 02 11:31 PM

I had a tummy tuck 12 days ago and have several concerns. First, if I put any pressure on my right side, such as the garment or even normal clothing, I get terrible
pain/burning down my right thigh. It is very intense and when it happens I can't even walk, I have to rip off whatever is pressing near that area. It feels like some is pressing hot pokers into my thigh. This area of my thigh is also numb, about a 4 x 6 inch area. It is numb but seems at the same time to be hypersensitive. I have to go back to work in a few days and I don't know what to do because I cannot stand the pressure of a waistband. My doctor thinks it might be an inflamed nerve and I am taking pills for nerve pain but they do not seem to help. He said he has never experienced it before. I have not been able to wear any type of compression garment which he said is ok. Sometimes I can wear the one that just wraps around my middle section for a short while because I cut an area out of the right side so it doesn't touch anywhere near that area. When I have nothing on I do not feel the pain except for a slight pulling in that area when I move around. Have you ever heard of this and if it is nerve pain will it calm down over time??
My second question, do you know how long the swelling will last? I am bigger around the middle than I was before and I can see that my same size pants do not fit (even if I could wear them!). I am a fairly small person and didn't really have a "pot belly" just loose skin. My Dr. says I am ok not wearing the compression garment because he calls my result "perfect" and says I have no fluid accumulation. I am definitely bigger around the middle, and the area below my belly button feels very hard. Do you think there is still swelling and will this area soften up over time? Thank you so much for your help.
