I had surgery about 6 months ago, developed a staph infection that required reopening of my wound, additional hospital stay, and home health care to manage the wound afterwards. I still experience swelling in my abdomen. My icesion site will break open during this swelling, the doctors say this ok. But, this is 6 months later, I still have pain, swelling, and run a fever on and off. is this really normal?

Hello and Welcome to Just Answer.

Can you tell me what kind of surgery you had?

Is it the surgeon or your general doctor telling you this is ok?

Are you having any kind of drainage at the site?

If you can answer these questions, I would be glad to help you.

Thank you,
