Is it common to have swelling in extremiies after extensive back surgery? Back surgery was extensive 3weeks ago and feet and calves are still swollen

Not usually as this can be a problem with your circulation or a problem with improper blood flow causing your feet and calves to swell this way. It may be due to the time you have had to be off of your feet but it still should be discussed with your surgeon to make sure that there is no underlting complications from the surgery so I would make it a point to call them today and let them know what is going on.
