I have chronic, puffy eyes.   I have tried Hydrocortisone (Preparation H) under the eyes and have also used eye creams, but do not get the desired results from either of these. How can I get rid of the puffiness? Is this correctable by surgery?

Hello,

Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes. I suggest to you to see a Plastic surgeon.

There are certain times the puffiness is worse than others. Because of this, I do not think it is fat, I think it is fluid, and question how surgery could be helpful with that.

Hi,

Eyelid surgery may correct puffy bags below your eyes which does not go away inspite of medical treatment or other treatment methods and make you look older and more tired than you feel. Please consult to a plastic surgeon.
