I have an infant who I still need to carry around at times.

Sent to Health Experts November 13, 2006 10:08 p.m.

I have an infant who I still need to carry around at times - weigh 20 lbs. I am having tummy tuck surgery done and I am wondering if I will be able to care for him 10 days after surgery (that is when my husband goes back to work). I will limt the amount of time I carry him but still need to lift occasionally to change diapers etc.

Hello,

You will need to find someone to help you during the day while your husband is at work as you will not be allowed to lift anything over 5 lbs. for six to eight weeks. Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is major abdominal surgery and you will not be allowed to pick up your 20 lb. child.

(I work in the OR with plastic surgeons)
