I had surgery 2 weeks ago. Immediately after the morphine-pca pump was taken from me, I started getting headaches, but only on one side of my head. The nurse said this was expected since I had general anesthesia (vaginal hysterectomy) and the morphine. The headaches continued after d/c. I was sent home with a tylenol 3 perscription. I tried not to take too many but the headaches wouldn't quit. I called the surgeon's office and was told not to take the T3, but to take extra strength tylenol and ibuprofen. Week after d/c, the right-side of my face has quit - mouth droops, eye will not shut. the surgeon states this has nothing to do with the surgery and it is bell's palsy. Stated I must have the herpes virus or exposed to shingles. I have never had a fever blister in my life nor have I had chicken pox. He put me on prednisone and an antiviral drug. My headache seemed to ease but is back today. I am scared the surgeon hasn't a clue and my whole face will sloth off. What do i do now?
