Ihave a red, dry, flaky splotch on my facial cheek that I have always thought was a slight case of roseacea...having read the symptoms of roseacea I don''t believe that''s what it is. Could it be a skin cancer? It''s not raised, just red, dry & flaky, no matter how much I moisturize or exfoliate.

Never seen a dr for this...it's only about the size of a dime, doesn't bother me...just hard to cover with makeup, and it's a dry patch that won't clear up...the redness stays about the same..no real change except that it's drier at times than others. If it was roseacea or psoriasis, wouldn't I have other splotches?

hi Gail,

If this was roseacea, yes it probably would affect more areas of your face, especially cheeks and nose. However, it could very well be psoriasis. It may appear in small patches, and not necessarily over more than one area of the body.

If the only problem you have with it is the fact that it is hard to cover with make-up, then I would not bother with it. However, if it bothers you in this respect, then I would see a dermatologist. If it turns out to be psoriasis, he/she can give you topical creams that may help control or get rid of it.

I hope this answers your concerns. Have a great day.

Lance
