Your Question:
My Dr just did an MRI on my brain due to a multitude of symptomology. Found a 17mm pineal cyst at internal cerevral vein and vein of galen. I read on WebMD that a .5cm cyst is not uncommon but larger can cause problems - many of which fit my current symptoms, but he just wants to "recheck in a year". Should I get 2nd opinion? This sounds more serious to me than he is taking it.

Yes, if the cyst is that size and you are having many of the problematic symptoms associated with larger cysts I would definatly get a second opinion or contact him and voice your concerns for health reasons and for your own worry over this situation. I feel it would be better to be safe then sorry and that is quite a large cyst!! i hope this information will be of help to you.
