It may not cause symptoms at first or the symptoms may be a bit vague, such as weakness, loss of energy. Acute liver disease, symptoms include jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), dark urine, and light stools, along with loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting are the most common. Chronic liver disease symptoms include jaundice, dark urine, abdominal swelling (due to ascites), pruritus (itching), unexplained weight loss/gain, abdominal pain.
