What are the symptoms of liver disease/problems and what foods or supplements are benefitial to the liver?

I want to know early symptoms. I do drink socially alot. I'm having skin problems (acne that isn't related to skin care) and generally feel poor but am functional. I've tried drinking more water during the day. I just don't feel right, I work long hours and am not yet ready to give up evening cocktails entirely--is there something that may be benifitial that I can add to my diet while I cut down on my evening drinking?

The early symptoms of liver disease are often vague and can even stump doctors. The best way to find out about the health of your liver is to get a blood test called the liver function test. The doctor can also check for antibodies for liver dieases such as hepatitis. An ultrasound can detect problems as well. If you do have a problem then a biopsy (not as bad as it sounds) can determine what is going on.

There are detox diets. If you feel you may have a liver problem, then not consuming alcohol would be very important. If you continue to have cocktails then you may not know if the other stuff you are doing to improve your health is working.

The best herb for the liver is milk thistle. This herb is so powerful that it has even helped people with hepatitis get better faster (in addition to their medicine).

I hope that you feel better.
