My son had POTS syndrome. Would this keep him from joinging the coast guard or any of the other armed services?

He was diagnosed when he was 15. He passes out occassionaly without any warning. However, he wakes up almost as fast as he passes out. If he stands up and then walks a bit he may just fall down. This does not happen very often....three times a year.

I would highly suggest that he keep up high fluid and salt intake as this is known to help with this condition considerably. He needs to make sure he will be able to pass the agility tests which can be pretty harsh to be able to pass and be allowed into any armed forces programs. If this happens while in the program they might not allow him to join. This is a six week intense course to get into any armed forces so he would need to be able to stay in excellent health during this time or I feel they would not allow him to join due to health reasons.
