A large area on my right lower leg feels hot inside at random times. The skin on the surface remains cool. What could be causing this? I am 61 years old, female, and in overall good health.

While it is difficult to be sure, your symptoms could be the result of one of the following conditions:

  • Vitamin/ trace element deficiencies
  • Superficial nerve damage
  • local blood vessel disease
  • any stress
